The rising global demand for lithium necessitates its efficient extraction techniques. This study focuses on optimizing froth flotation parameters to maximize lithium recovery from Ijero lihium-bearing pegmatite in Southwestern Nigeria. Key process variables including pH, collector dosage, and frother dosage were systematically adjusted to determine optimal conditions for lithium mineral recovery. Chemical analyses were conducted to characterize the ore, while grindability tests determined suitable grinding parameters. Flotation experiments were performed at varying pH levels (7–10), collector dosages (200–600 g/ton), and frother dosages (0.2–0.6 ml/ton). Results show that Ijero ore achieves maximum lithium recovery at pH 7, with an optimal collector dosage of 400 g/ton and frother dosage of 0.4 ml/ton, yielding a Li₂O content of 4.23%. However, excessive collector addition (above 400 g/ton) led to increased impurity entrapment, particularly Fe₂O₃, reducing concentrate purity. Additionally, significant lithium losses were detected in the tailings, necessitating further recovery strategies.
